We have a faithful and dedicated team of trustees who work extremely hard to ensure the governance and practicalities operates within the Charity Commission guidelines. Our current trustees are:-
Mike Deves: (Chair) Mike’s background is as a Civil Servant. His passion for community work became apparent when he became a member of Bromley Lions Club, and subsequently the main organiser for the Bromley Carnival which raised thousands of pounds for local charities. Mike’s charitable work is varied. He was President of Bromley Lions in 2007/2008 and again in 2011/12. He is also trustee of Bromley Mencap and a volunteer with Age Concern, is a former governor of Parish Primary School and member of the Life Education Committee. Helping JusB: Through his links with the Bromley Lions Mike has been involved with collections and quizzes for JusB. He also helps as an individual with street collections and delivering leaflets about our work. Year started: 2008
Andrew Lancaster: Andrew’s background is in banking, a career which spanned over thirty years. Andrew started at JusB as a volunteer helping with our trust fundraising. We were interested in the benefits that his financial skills could bring to trustees and he was invited to join the board. Along with the Finance Manager, Fundraiser and Project Manager Andrew is part of the Futures Group which checks the long term sustainability of JusB. Helping JusB: Andrew is a Church Rep. He has particularly promoted our stamp collection scheme to a church that was a new contact for JusB. For our Tenth Anniversary Andrew and his son were part of a sponsored cycle ride. In September 2019 Andrew completed the LEJOG 950 mile cycle ride for JusB. Year started: 2012
Roger Brighton: Roger is a retired Insurance Broker, having spent most of his working life as a broker at Lloyds of London. During which time he was an elected member of the Court of Common Council of the City of London for 18 years and served on the committees which ran Smithfield, Billingsgate and Spitalfields Markets and also the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was introduced to JusB by his wife’s Livery Company who actively support their work. Helping JusB: Roger is the trustee responsible for Health and Safety. Year started: 2019
Helen Oakes: Helen's interest in the charity sector and in supporting young people has followed through a variety of paid and voluntary roles in education, human resources, and mental health. In her most recent HR role, Helen has worked hard to ensure talented young people have the best experience, training, and pastoral support early in their career, whilst simultaneously planning strategically to ensure every penny of charity money is spent wisely. Outside of work, Helen thrives by learning and supporting others. She is a regular listening volunteer at The Listening Place and is completing a part-time conversion Psychology degree. Helen enjoys fundraising, having raised money for good causes through marathons, bucket collections, and the sale of hand-crafted baby blankets. Helen came across JusB whilst looking for opportunities to support her local community, and was impressed by the cause, dedication, and commitment to inclusivity shown by the charity. David Hullah: David has worked for 30 years plus for various financial institutions in the ‘City’ working in the International Project Finance arena which allowed him the fortunate opportunity to travel extensively. During this time David was a member of various management boards and for a 3 year period was appointed a Pension Trustee. Currently David is a Director of a small ‘Green Energy’ company whose aim is to build recycling projects in lesser developed countries to help them obtain a secure supply of water/energy and reduce plastic waste. David has 4 children and have been a Bromley resident for more than 30 years. David remains a Trustee of the Bullers Wood Multi Academy Trust (7 years) and until recently he was a member of Bromley Council's Education and Family sub-committee and the Educational appeals committee. David continues to support Welsh and local rugby with other main interests, being Music, Travel and Golf. Year started 2021
Rebecca Hedges: Rebecca is a civil servant and a qualified HR Professional, having worked in HR for over a decade. She has volunteered with a number of youth charities including regularly volunteering at her local Guiding unit. She enjoys helping young people to develop and grow. She is a keen runner and has used her passion for running to raise money for charity.
